Introduction

            There is a rapid growth in the services sector economy due to development of small enterprises, particularly in the areas of trade, transport, and construction services. One of the main reasons for their rapid growth is that they have been left entirely to the private entrepreneurs, which are comparatively free from government interference. The reasons behind the success of small enterprises are many. The interest, self-control, self-confidence, sense of urgency and motivation of the entrepreneurs are the key to make a successful enterprise. Entrepreneurship is a profession in which entrepreneurs create and grow enterprises by their own ideas, resources, knowledge, skills and experience. And entrepreneurs are the peoples who create, enlarge and manage a business assuming the risk for the sake of ultimate profit.

Entrepreneur

         “A person who sets up a business, taking financial risks for the sake of profit.”

       “An entrepreneur is an individual person who creates a new business, assuming most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services and businesses.”

         “A person who undertakes the risk of setting up a new business venture is called an entrepreneur.”

Qualities of an entrepreneur

            A successful entrepreneur will have following qualities.

Ø  He is a person who develops and owns an enterprise.

Ø  He is a moderate risk taker.

Ø  He works continuously to achieve the set goals.

Ø  He is always innovative.

Ø  Steps forward to be independent.

Ø  Persistently tries to do something better.

Ø  He is dissatisfied with routine activities.

Ø  He is always ready to withstand the hard life.

Ø  He will have much patience.

Ø  He exhibits sense of leadership and competitiveness.

Ø  Always focus towards the future.

Ø  He always try to convert a situation into opportunity.
